This curriculum guide serves to provide essential information concerning the courses and the programs of study offered at Sacred Heart High School.
The goal of this guide is to assist students and their parents in the selection of the best possible program of study, based upon the individual’s needs and abilities. The success of the student’s high school career is related to his/her wise selection of courses, as well as to a commitment to the development of good study habits.
Advanced Placement(AP): Most competitive. For rank in class, the course weight is 1.15
Honors(H): Highly competitive. For rank in class, the course weight is 1.10
College Prep II (CP2): Very competitive. For rank in class, the course weight is 1.05
College Prep I (CP1): Competitive. For rank in class the course weight is 1.0

Requirements for Graduation
The State of Connecticut, The Archdiocese of Hartford, and Sacred Heart High School have established specific requirements for graduation. Twenty-three credits (24 for class of 2013) are required for graduation. These include the following: four credits in English, three credits (four in 2013) in Mathematics, four credits in Theology, three credits in Social Studies, one credit in Physical Education, two and one-half (3 in 2013)in Science, one credit in Fine Arts/Vocational Studies. Additionally, for the class of 2013 one credit for a service project will be required. These required courses must be taken during specific years, and must be successfully completed before promotions will be granted.
