Curriculum Guidelines

These curriculum guidelines serve to provide essential information concerning the courses and the programs of study offered at Sacred Heart High School.

The goal of this guide is to assist students and their parents in the selection of the best possible program of study, based upon a student’s needs and abilities. The success of the student’s high school career is related to his/her wise selection of courses, as well as to a commitment to the development of good study habits.

Requirements for Graduation

The Archdiocese of Hartford and Sacred Heart High School have established specific requirements for graduation.

Twenty-three credits (24 for class of 2013) are required for graduation. These include the following:

  • four credits in English
  • three credits in Mathematics (four in 2013)
  • four credits in Theology
  • three credits in Social Studies
  • one credit in Physical Education
  • two and one-half credits in Science (3 in 2013)
  • one credit in Fine Arts/Vocational Studies
  • two credits in Foreign Language (3 credits for CPII and Honors)
  • Community Service Hours (details…)

All course selections are subject to course enrollments. There is no guarantee that a student will take every course he/she selects.
