Sacred Heart Congratulates Scholar Athletes

The CAS-CIAC has recognized two Sacred Heart High School students as “Scholar Athletes”for maintaining high grade point averages while participating in several athletic teams. Peter DeGennaro and Deanna Rosa both stand in the top ten students of the senior class. Both Peter and Deanna have shown a strong commitment to their academic studies as well as the teams they are members of. Peter is on the SHHS Boys’ Tennis Team and he plans to attend Boston College in the fall. Deanna is a member of the cheerleading and tennis teams and plans to attend Fairfield University in the fall. The Republican American newspaper also recently released names of their “Academic All-Stars”. Boys Swimming & Diving Team Earns State Title

Sacred Heart High School congratulates the Boys Swimming and Diving Team on their recent success at the Class S State Championships! On the evening of Wednesday March 16, 2011, at Wesleyan University in Middletown, the Sacred Heart Boys Swim Team clinched the State Title scoring a total of 591.5 points. Under the leadership of Coach Ray Snyder III, the team claimed victories in the 200 and 400 free relays, as well as in the 200 medley relay with a record setting time. The Hearts also excelled individually, taking 2nd place in the 50 freestyle, 200 IM and 100 backstroke, as well as 3rd place in the 100 breaststroke.
