Sacred Heart High School congratulates the Boys Swimming and Diving Team on their recent success at the Class S State Championships!

On the evening of Wednesday March 16, 2011, at Wesleyan University in Middletown, the Sacred Heart Boys Swim Team clinched the State Title scoring a total of 591.5 points. Under the leadership of Coach Ray Snyder III, the team claimed victories in the 200 and 400 free relays, as well as in the 200 medley relay with a record setting time. The Hearts also excelled individually, taking 2nd place in the 50 freestyle, 200 IM and 100 backstroke, as well as 3rd place in the 100 breaststroke.

Sacred Heart is also extremely proud of divers Stephen Ettienne, Paul Woodruff and Dillon Joyce for their performances at the Class S State Competition on March 9, 2011. Stephen brought home his fourth state title, followed closely by Paul in 2nd place and Dillon in 5th place. The boys then went on to compete in the State Opens on March 17, 2011 at Hamden High School, where Stephen captured his second Open crown! Stephen totaled 566 points over 11 dives, narrowly missing his own Open record of 572 points set in 2010. We wish Stephen and Paul the best of luck with their college diving careers, and look forward to seeing Dillon on the pool deck as a senior in 2012!
