On Saturday, April 28, 2018, the Sacred Heart e-sports League of Legends team won the first ever electronic gaming federation state championship. The state championship was the culminating event for a interscholastic, competitive season sponsored by the EGF and endorsed by the Connecticut Association of Schools. The Hearts were one of sixteen schools competing for a spot in the state finals. EGF provides Connecticut high school teams with a structure environment to competitively play video games that in turn allows the students to build communication and critical-thinking skills while working as a team. Members of the team include Tiger Wu, Danny Li, Irving Ding, Joseph Nguyen, Christian Ramirez, Marquel Dolphy, and Shakur Gordon.
