Communication from Mr. Azzara regarding return to school from Christmas break
I have been following the state and local reports on the Covid virus since we left for vacation. Unfortunately, the number of cases of infection has continued to rise steadily during this period.
Waterbury’s rate of positive cases is now the second-highest in the state behind Hartford. With so many family gatherings and homecomings, along with families leaving the state during this period, I have concerns with respect to exposure. The health of our students and staff is Mrs. Regan and my greatest concern.
Therefore, we will remain remote for all students this coming week January 4-8. There will be no school on Wednesday. It is a professional development day for the staff. Monday will be Day 2 for students.
I will monitor the situation during the week and decide when it will be safe for everyone’s return.
Thank you for your understanding.
